“REFORM OF STATE-OWNED AND LOCAL ENTERPRISES AND CAPITAL MARKET” TRAINING AND FORUM SUCCESSFULLY HELD

The "Mongolian Stock Exchange" JSC (MSE), in collaboration with the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Mongolia and the State Property Policy and Coordination Agency, successfully organized a joint training and discussion event titled "Reform of State-Owned and Local Enterprises and the Capital Market" on November 28-29, 2024.

Highlights of the Event

The opening session on November 29, 2024, was inaugurated by Tsengel. B, Head of the State Property Policy and Coordination Agency, who delivered a presentation. Following this, Uchral. N, Minister and Chief Cabinet Secretary of the Government of Mongolia, provided a comprehensive overview of the government’s policies, plans, and legal reforms in the context of “Reform of State-Owned and Local Enterprises.”

Key topics covered included:

  • Current Status and Reform Needs of state-owned and local enterprises, governance practices, and international best practices.

  • Legal Framework Reforms for state-owned and local enterprises.

These discussions were enriched with presentations and panel discussions involving experts and practitioners.

  1. Featured Presentations

    • Khash-Erdene. T, Chief of the Business Development Department of MSE, discussed the “Current State and Future Trends of the Securities Market, with a Focus on State-Owned Enterprises’ IPOs.”

    • Enkhtuya. M, Senior Specialist at Registration Department of MSE, shared insights on “Key Considerations and Responsibilities in the Registration Process at MSE.”

The event concluded with a panel discussion involving speakers and participants.

Participants and Engagement

The large-scale event saw participation from various key government and private sector entities, including:

    • Government agencies: Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Roads and Transport Development, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Energy, Financial Regulatory Commission, and State Property Policy and Coordination Agency.

    • Local and regional authorities: Representatives from over 20 provincial and city property departments.

    • State-Owned Entities: 16 enterprises, 37 state-owned companies, and seven companies with state ownership.

    • Private Sector: Representatives from 10 private companies.

The event fostered valuable discussions on advancing the reform of state-owned enterprises and enhancing their integration into the capital market.
