“1072 SHARES” OPEN DAY EVENT KICKS OFF AT SUKHBAATAR SQUARE

2026-09-04 09:41:03

At an extraordinary Cabinet meeting held on August 31, 2026, Prime Minister N. Uchral presented nine key decisions outlined in the 2026 budget revision and the draft 2027 state budget.

One of the decisions states that “Citizens will have the right to inherit, gift, and trade their 1,072 shares in ‘Erdenes Tavantolgoi’ JSC.”

In line with this decision, “Erdenes Tavantolgoi” JSC is holding a “1072 Shares” Open Day at Sukhbaatar Square starting today to provide citizens with detailed information regarding their 1,072 shares.

P. Nyamdorj, Senior Specialist of the Public Relations and Information Department of the Mongolian Stock Exchange JSC, provided the public with information on “The Importance of the Capital Market.”

The event brings together representatives from the Capital City Governor’s Office, General Authority for State Registration, Financial Regulatory Commission, Mongolian Stock Exchange JSC, Central Securities Depository LLC, Mongolian Notaries Chamber, and Association of Securities Dealers, who are providing citizens with comprehensive information related to the 1,072 shares.

Trading the shares allocated to citizens by “Erdenes Tavantolgoi” JSC through the Mongolian Stock Exchange will enable shareholders to have their shares valued at market prices, utilize them as an asset when needed, and make informed investment decisions.

Furthermore, establishing a market price for the shares and increasing their liquidity will contribute to greater activity in the capital market and broader public participation.

In the longer term, this will create greater opportunities for domestic companies to raise long-term financing through the capital market and contribute to diversifying sources of financing for the economy.

As part of the policies and initiatives being implemented by the Government of Mongolia, the Mongolian Stock Exchange is taking relevant measures and making the necessary preparations to ensure infrastructure readiness for the trading of the 1,072 shares on the Exchange and their integration into economic circulation.

The “1072 Shares” Open Day will continue tomorrow, September 4, 2026, at Sukhbaatar Square.
